Speedboat transfer policy

Meeru schedules speedboat transfers to/from Male’ International Airport to coincide with the arrival/departure flights of Meeru’s guests. The speedboat transfer time is about 55 minutes.

Typically, upon arrival in the Maldives, after clearing Immigration and Customs formalities, a guest would wait no longer than about 1 hour at the Airport before a scheduled speedboat transfer would depart for Meeru. In rare instances, such as if an international flight arrival is delayed or a baggage claim form must be completed, then the maximum time for such a wait would usually be about 2 hours.

International flight departure regulations require guests to check-in at the airline ticket counter no later than 2 hours before flight departure time.

Speedboat transfers are categorized as daytime and nightime.

A speedboat transfer departing from the Airport between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.; or departing from Meeru after 3:00 p.m. and before 5:00 a.m., are considered as a nightime transfer and are subject to a supplemental charge per the terms of the respective Tour Operator contract.

The last daytime speedboat departure from Meeru is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. In rare instances, this departure time may be rescheduled to 5:00 p.m., at the sole discretion of Meeru; in which case Meeru will not apply the nightime supplement to those passengers confirmed on the 3:00 p.m. speedboat departure.

The nightime transfer schedule is as follows:

Guests who cannot connect with the 2:00 a.m. speedboat departure from the Airport to Meeru, may choose to overnight at the Hulhule Airport Hotel, or at a hotel in Male’, or remain at the Airport. In any event, their speedboat departure from the Airport is usually scheduled that same morning about 8:30 a.m., and which will be confirmed upon their arrival at the Airport, by their local ground handling agent.

In rare instances, due to circumstances outside the control of Meeru, such as unfavorable weather conditions, the speedboat departure may be scheduled to depart Meeru earlier than usual; or later than usual from the Airport to Meeru, in which case, Meeru assumes no liability for any related expenses of the guests.
