From 21 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, Meeru Maldives Resort Island celebrates a season of Island Days. Festive Nights.
First come the Christmas wishes, the festive lights and the excitement of Santa’s arrival. Then come the final sunset of the year, an evening of celebration and a countdown shared beneath the Maldivian sky.
This festive season, Meeru Maldives Resort Island brings Christmas and New Year together through a programme of family activities, gala dinners, live music and celebrations by the sea.
Christmas Wishes and Island Traditions
The festivities begin on 21 December, with children decorating Christmas ornaments and a tree at the Koamas Kids Playroom. As evening approaches, sunset music leads into Meeru’s festive lighting with cocktails and live music at Dhoni Bar Beach.
On Christmas Eve, younger guests can write their letters to Santa before Santa’s Christmas Surprise brings families together at Dhoni Bar Beach. Christmas cheers and live music set the mood for the evening, followed by the Christmas Eve Gala Dinner at Meeru’s buffet restaurants.
After dinner, the celebrations return to the beach, where a Christmas Eve DJ Party carries the festive spirit into the night.
Christmas Day brings a taste of island life. Children can enjoy bracelet making and Maldivian handicrafts, while golf target hitting offers some friendly competition. The evening closes with a Maldivian Cultural Night at Kakuni Bar, giving the celebrations a distinctly Maldivian touch.
The Days Between Have Their Own Magic
Between Christmas and New Year, there are treasures to find, sandcastles to build and new friends to meet.
The Koamas Kids programme includes a Coconut Quest, Little Mocktail Masters and the Meeru Mini Olympics, alongside creative activities throughout the season. Families can also settle in for a movie under the stars at Dhoni Bar Beach on 22 December.
Pool parties, guests-versus-Meeru-team football matches and a padel tennis fun session bring a little friendly island rivalry. Sunset live music offers a gentler way to end the afternoon, before evenings of karaoke, movies and DJ entertainment.
There is room to join the action—and time to enjoy the beach between celebrations.
A Sparkling Farewell to 2026
On 31 December, attention turns to the year ahead.
The evening begins with the “Thank You, 2026” Cocktail Party with Live Music at Dhoni Bar Beach, followed by the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner with Live Music at Meeru’s buffet restaurants.
Then the island gathers for the New Year Countdown Party at Dhoni Bar Beach. As midnight draws near, guests and the Meeru team count down together, welcoming 2027 beside the sea.
The celebrations continue with a Maldivian Cultural Night on New Year’s Day, a Glow Party DJ evening on 2 January, and more activities and music through 3 January.
